2. The House Ways and Means Committee will meet tomorrow at 9:00 AM to debate and vote on the gas tax increase. We need your help to pack the Ways and Means Committee room and show our legislators that we do NOT need a higher gas tax!
"Government belongs to those who show up"
This quote has been proven true time and time again in Louisiana. Despite polling showing 67% of Louisianians opposed to higher taxes, our legislators for 2 years have raised over $2 billion in taxes on this state. Why? That 67% does not show up- we're busy working while liberal special interest groups bus people in to beg for moretaxpayer dollars before committees. It is time that we show up again and again and stand up against higher taxes!!
If you can attend and show your opposition to the gas tax increase, please reply to this e-mail.We need 100 people to help pack the committee room-

TALKING POINTS ON HB 953
VETO HB 953 because:
1. This bill removes parents from the LA educational process of determining standards.
2. HB 953 destroys our state sovereignty over education by requiring "nationally recognized standards" and assessments that are defined by other states and tied to the "rigor" of the NAEP (National Assessment of Educational Progress) Test that is fully controlled by the FEDERAL Department of Education.
3. HB 953 requires that beginning in the 2016-2017 school year, the assessment "results" (from tests over which we have little control) will be used to evaluate our Louisiana students, teachers, and schools. Outcome based high stakes testing "results" which we do not control must not be the foundation of our state's educational system.
4. For our children, we need to: STOP COMMON CORE AND PARCC TESTING IN LOUISIANA.
Call to Action: Louisiana Rally Against Common Core, Sat June 14 (9am - 12) at La State Capitol Steps http://t.co/e01GafBNFr

Louisiana Democrats are pushing
a 500 Million Dollar
Obama style tax increase plan
in the Louisiana legislature.
Some misguided Republican legislators
have also signed on
to this tax increase compromise.
The vote may be as early as Monday.
Please call your representative and senator today
and tell them that any tax increase
is unacceptable.
Remind them that we will vote
the Government Gone Wild Democrats
and RINOs out of office in the next election.
